My Fan Does Not Blow

With all the storms and lightening we’ve been having I thought I’d share a service call we received a few days ago.

We got a call a few days ago from a customer in Plano, Tx.  His complaint was that his blower would not come on.  There was no air out of the vents.  We went out and found that his blower was not running.  After some testing and readings on our meter we found that the board was not working properly.  We removed the old board and this is what we found:

When the damage is THIS obvious it’s very apparent what happened.  This was almost 100% surely caused by lightening.  Unfortunately this happens a lot after electrical storms.  Damage to the control board of the furnace is very common, along with other electrical problems in the home.
